Before You Ship

How to prepare your car for pickup?
  • Remove any personal items and hazardous material. You can leave an Airtag or tracking device in your car if you’d like, but any additional items will change the weight of the vehicle and are not protected by the carrier’s insurance.
  • Make sure that it's in proper condition, like it runs and drives if you indicated that it does. You don't have to submit photos, but it’s always safe to have them. If you have vehicle modifications (lift kits, ladders, etc) that you did not disclose, let the AHX Direct team know at support@ahxdiret.com.
What to expect on pickup day?
  • The carrier should be reaching out to you to coordinate an exact time for pickup. Depending on the size of the transporter, they may ask you to meet at a business or parking lot. You can find out who the carrier is in your "view my transport page" which will be sent via email.
  • The owner of the vehicle needs to be present at pickup. Ideally the owner is the listed contact person. The vehicle owner will have to sign off on the vehicle and it's condition.
  • You will need to give the carrier your keys. If you have two sets of keys, give the carrier one and keep one.
  • When the truck shows up, look for the DOT on the truck and confirm that it matches what is on your transport page.
  • Do not pay the driver. All payments happen through AHX Direct. If you are asked for payment outside of AHX Direct, let the AHX Direct team know immediately.
Choosing between open and enclosed transport
  • Open transport is going to expose your vehicle to the elements – rain, wind, snow, dirt – while an enclosed trailer is going to protect your vehicle. Enclosed trailers are typically more expensive and can take longer to secure because it’s a specialized trailer.
Understanding your market estimate
  • The market estimate you received on our site is final once we have the VIN, date, and you have submitted your payment information. Once you have paid, we will not request any more money – unless you need to make modifications you did not disclose in your initial purchase.
  • If your vehicle has modifications (ladders, racks, lift kits, etc) you will need to work directly with our team to finalize your market estimate at support@ahxdirect.com.
  • The market estimate generated on our site is valid for 48 hours from the time is it created.
  • You can book 30 days in advance of your shipment.
  • You will NEVER pay the driver outside of the AHX Direct platform. Do not bring money for the shipment at pick up or delivery. If you are asked for payment outside of AHX Direct, let the AHX Direct team know immediately.

During Transport

How to monitor your shipment?
  • You can monitor your shipment on the “View Your Transport” page. There is a progress bar showing what step in the process you are at – booking, scheduled, picked up, or delivered. You will get an email 24 hours before pickup that includes your carrier information – carrier, company name, DOT number, dispatcher name, and phone number.
  • If you have any questions, contact us at support@ahxdirect.com
What happens if there’s a delay?
  • You can contact the carrier directly, or you can ask us to contact them on your behalf. You can reach us at support@ahxdirect.com.
How communication works with your carrier?
  • You will be given all carrier contact information to contact them directly after booking. If you have any specifics around location information or delivery timelines, you can contact them.
  • If you are having issues contacting the carrier, contact AHX Direct at support@ahxdirect.com.
  • Work with AHX Direct support for any payment issues, platform issues, or questions about your vehicle.
Is my car insured while in transit?

Yes. Every AHX Direct carrier is fully licensed and insured. You’re covered from pickup to delivery.

What if I need to change or cancel my booking?

After Delivery

How to report an issue or claim?
What to check when your car arrives
  • Check the condition of your vehicle when it arrives. Someone will have to be there at drop off to sign off on the condition of your vehicle. Any damages will need to be noted in the BOL (Bill of Laden) before it is signed. Your carrier will ask you to sign off upon delivery.
